Terms & Conditions
Important: you must read carefully and share the following terms & conditions with everybody who attends the trip.
Please arrive 15 mins prior to your trip start time. Packrafting Scotland will not be responsible for lateness or non-arrival due to breakdown, traffic or unplanned timings and no refunds will be given.
I fully understand that Packrafting and cliff jumping is an adventurous activity. Accidents can happen without any contributory negligence from Packrafting Scotland or its staff. Packrafting Scotland will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property or personal injury not arising as a result of its own act or default. In the event of adverse, unforeseen, dangerous weather, quick change in river levels or uneven terrain during the trip. I accept and understand that the instructor, reserves the right to make changes or interrupt the trip on behalf of safety to any of the participants. I will disclose any medical conditions, disabilities or medication that may affect my participation on the trip. I will take full responsibility for my own actions. I will comply with instructions from the instructors for my own safety and the safety of others.
We reserve the right to remove any guest from a trip if, in our opinion, that guest’s actions or behaviours pose a threat to the safety of her/himself or others, or if those actions or behaviours compromise the enjoyment of the trip for others. Should a guest be asked to leave a trip, there will be no refund for the unused portion, nor will Packrafting Scotland be responsible for additional expenses incurred by the guest for accommodations, return transport, change fees, etc.
ALL participants must be made aware by the person booking the trip that Packrafting and cliff jumping, as well as all other outdoor adventurous activities, carry a degree of risk that can include and is not exclusive to death and disablement. Even though Packrafting Scotland will manage these risks, there is still a chance that participants may fall into cold, turbulent water that is fast flowing or exposure of heights and many other potential hazards associated with our trips. Participants will only attend on the understanding that they are aware of these risks and wish to participate of their own free will. I am also aware that medical facilities may not be readily available during the trip.
On signing and completing a ‘Participation Form’ or other Company Document, or receiving a trip confirmation, or booking you agree to honour and abide by the Booking Terms and Conditions and Activity Terms and Conditions as documented by Packrafting Scotland. You acknowledge that all the participants in your group are aware of these terms and conditions before the trip date.
I understand that it is a requirement to declare all existing or reoccurring injuries, including any fitness or medical conditions prior to undertaking the trip.
I understand that a safety brief will be provided by a member of staff prior to the start of the trip and
I will pay attention. If a safety brief is not provided I will refuse to participate in the trip. As a way of making our trips as safe as possible a trip participant will be asked to tick and sign a safety briefing checklist.
1. Payments
Bookings will be confirmed on receipt of a deposit of 50% of the total booking fee.
Once you’ve made your deposit, we’ll send you a confirmation e-mail. It is your responsibility to read and understand all of the pre-trip information that we send to you.
If you have booked an international trip, the outstanding balance is payable in full 2 months before the date of the trip.
· For all trips full payment will be due 14 days prior to the trip.
Vouchers are nonrefundable or exchangeable for cash from Packrafting Scotland.
· If booked on a training course. The full amount is due one month before the course.

2. If you Cancel
Deposits will be forfeited upon cancellation. All cancellations and/or reductions in numbers should be notified as soon as possible by email. Any cancellations within the 14 day period prior to the trip date will result in the group leader being held liable for the full cost of the cancelled trip or reduction. Please understand that our trip dates and capacities are limited and when we accept your reservation, we may be turning others away from booking that trip. If you find it necessary to cancel your trip, please notify us as soon as possible. You can telephone, but we also need a written notice by form of email.
3. If We Cancel or Make Changes
In the event of us having to cancel a trip, a full deposit will be refunded or a free transfer to an alternative date or trip of the same value (where available) offered. Packrafting Scotland will not be liable for any loss damage or expense resulting from a greater force or any unforeseen circumstances outside of their control e.g. inclement weather or change of venue for safety purposes. Packrafting Scotland reserve the right to amend the running order of your trip day should this be necessary to provide the best service possible. The company is unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or other incidental expenses incurred by you in attending a trip which is cancelled for any reason.
4. Insurance and Safety
Packrafting Scotland have full public liability insurance. It is the nature of adventurous activities that there will always be some degree of risk. Our insurance does not cover you for inherent risks or client negligence. Whilst not mandatory for UK trips you may wish to arrange your own personal injury insurance. For your own safety it is imperative that you abide by the decisions of our instructors. We reserve the right to make changes to planned rivers and venues as a result of adverse or impending conditions.
5. Alcohol and Drugs
Packrafting Scotland also reserves the right to refuse participation to clients that they believe to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and in such circumstances no refunds shall be given.
6. Parental Consent
It is a legal requirement for anyone under the age of 18 years to have parental consent. Anyone under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult (Parent or Guardian). Unless the age restriction for certain trips is 18 years and over. Before trip departure parent or guardian must sign a risk acceptance document for anyone under the age of 18 years.
7. Privacy Policy
Packrafting Scotland maintains the privacy of all messages and does not transfer personal information to any third party. We do not store customer credit card details. We do not share customer details and details of those signing up to any of our mailing lists with any 3rd parties. Any personal information captured via our mailing list sign up forms will only be used for the purpose specified on the marketing materials at the time of sign up.
8. Gift Experience Vouchers
Please note Gift Experience Vouchers are non-refundable and are valid for exactly 1 year (365 days) from the date of purchase. Voucher Validity: Our Gift Vouchers are valid for a period of twelve months from date of purchase. If you cannot redeem the voucher within this period then, at our discretion, the voucher may be extended for an agreed period. In this event an administration fee of £15.00 per voucher will apply. No gift vouchers will be issued until payment has been received in full.
9. Photography
I consent that images and video footage may be taken before during or after the activity and may be used for marketing purposes by Packrafting Scotland.
10. Multi-day Trips
Be sure to let us know if you will have a birthday or anniversary during your trip. We need to know as soon as possible about any dietary requirements we should consider in planning your trip. If you have food allergies or restrictions, we will do our best to accommodate your needs. However, people with severe food allergies may need to supply some or all of their own food since we can’t entirely mitigate the risk of cross contamination. Additionally, some specific needs can only be met if we charge you a supplemental menu fee to cover our increased costs.
Note: Pending a detailed discussion about a guest’s specific dietary requirements, Packrafting Scotland may determine that a severely allergic person is not suitable for our trips due to the constraints of preparing food for groups of people in a wilderness setting.
Finally, please note that a minimum number of 2 is required to run a trip. If this number is not achieved 24 Hours before the trip is due to go ahead, one of our office staff will contact you to make suitable alternative arrangements. Max no. of 6 people on a trip (location depending) at anytime
If you’re suffering from any illness or injury at the time of booking, we advise you not to confirm you’re booking until you have been given the all-clear by your doctor.
Instructors are responsible for the safety of their clients during trips, training or assessment. In order to manage the risk, all clients are requested to draw to the attention of the instructor(s) if they are unhappy or feel the activity is beyond their ability. No client, irrespective of circumstance, is required to undertake any aspect of the trips, training or assessment and may withdraw from the trip, course or assessment at any time.
Proof of medical evacuation insurance is required for all of our international adventures.
Weight restrictions WILL apply, particularly during periods of high water when the probabilities for non-voluntary swims are increased. More strenuous trips require higher levels of physical fitness. People who are obese, pregnant, have heart trouble or other medical conditions should have their physician’s approval before joining a Packrafting Scotland trip. People with disabilities are welcome (river depending), pending an advance discussion of all special requirements.
